Lord God, immanent in His creation, Great in His ways, I bring before You the ways of the Church established in Your Son’s name in Antioch to be the body of Christ, and to confess that the Church has been a perpetrator of all manner of sin – the Church has continued to split;
Fasting and prayer are not about earning God’s favor; they are about drawing near to Him. James 4:8 promises, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” This Lent let’s embrace the joy of intimacy with God through fasting and prayer. Even when it feels challenging, remember that God sees your heart and honors your efforts.
Give ear, O heavens, as I say my adoration to God Almighty, the Rock, Whose work is perfect; Whose ways are justice; a God of truth, The Only Righteous One, the Great Creator, the Ancient of days Who shakes the earth, Who made the seas by His heavenly decree;
Father, I repent of all my sins, including adultery, in lusting over things of this world; in idolatry by way of financial idolatry: the worship of man, position and material things; greed, stinginess, self-centeredness, arrogance, pride, love of money, stubbornness and financial disobedience.

Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Lord All Powerful, Maker of all things and Judge of all men, I have confessed my sins to the extent I can, and pray You not to count against me those sins and wrongdoings, I do not recollect or realise I committed, rather Lord God shed upon me the divine influence of Your mercy, and confirm in me true and steadfast faith, and a renewed mind,
Lord God of Host, Who covers our sins and forgives our iniquities, I thank you Lord for the opportunity to witness another Ash Wednesday, for all vouchsafed to me in the past year, and keeping me till this day especially in faith.
Welcome to week 1 of Lent 2025! This year, we’re diving deep into what it means to walk with Jesus during these 46 days of reflection, repentance, and renewal. Each week, we’ll explore a different theme, grounded in Scripture, and we’ll share some practical ways you can apply these truths to your life. Whether you’re reading this with your morning coffee, during a quiet moment, or in between the busyness of your day, my prayer is that this series will inspire, challenge, and encourage you in your faith journey.
Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday, marks a 40-day period of penitence and preparation for Easter, inviting Christians to self-examine, repent, and seek God’s forgiveness. The imposition of ashes symbolizes mortality and sin, reminding worshippers of Christ’s sacrifice. This solemn period encourages reflection on the need for genuine repentance and spiritual renewal.
Lord God of Host, Who covers our sins and forgives our iniquities, I thank you Lord for the opportunity to witness another Ash Wednesday, for all vouchsafed to me in the past year, and keeping me till this day especially in faith.
