Almighty God, Who gave wisdom to Esther and Daniel, our Eternal Father, Gracious God, the only Wise One, I come before You today, as Solomon in his day, to pray that You grant me divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding so my living may be holier and guided by things divine. Show me the way Father as You showed sages of old, give me right views of You, so I may with wisdom pursue my earthly goals in my march to eternal life in Christ; and by divine understanding draw my spirit’s eyes to the things concealed from mortal sight. Lord God, You know the days are evil, so enable me to live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, before me. Father, our Righteousness, lead me in paths of righteousness, and give me the understanding to grasp the depth and height of the love You, and Your Son, have for me and mankind – so Your love may permeate my being. Most Gracious God, Father of Lights, shine the Light on me so I may read, interpret, understand and apply learning from the Bibe in my daily living – and by this find my purpose, pursue my goal and walk the Way. Father, let my dealings with others be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that I may be righteous in my dealings with others. God our Father, by Your all-discerning Spirit, bring success to all I do; give me a discerning spirit, so I may know the way to go, the instructions to obey, and the avoid all which may bring sin to me. Father, grant me a humble heart born of divine wisdom; a penitent soul born of divine understanding; and a chaste living born of sanctification by the Holy Spirit. Lord God Almighty, give me all that will make me a wise man with an understanding heart and a Christian soul, and let me enjoy Your plan for me which is wonderful; and let me be guided Your wisdom for the contrite which is magnificent. Lord God, Who makes souls to shine, anoint me with Your heavenly grace, seal me with the Holy Spirit, so every thought, work and word of mine so my life may be for Your service, and my end be the gate to heaven, for I ask in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
