O Lord Jesus Christ, Man of Sorrows and Bearer of the Cross, I draw near in reverent silence to the mystery of Your suffering love. On this solemn and dreadful day, when the earth trembled and the heavens were veiled, I beseech You: continue Your gracious protection over me and over all members of my family. Defend us from all dangers and mischiefs, and from the fear of those who rise against us, that we may live in quiet strength and be made ready for the coming of our Lord.
O Lamb of God, lifted between earth and sky, forsaken that we might never be forsaken, Lord of life and glory, from Your pierced side let Your living waters be healing stream for me and all members of my family; let that stream wash over me; grant me healing, renewal, and newness of life.
O Sacred Head, once wounded, bowed beneath the weight of sin, lift me from the burden of this fallen world; set me free from the entanglements of sin and the oppression of men. Christ, Firstborn from the dead, raise me from every death within — infuse into me a new being, alive unto righteousness and truth.
O Prince of Peace, upon whom the chastisement of our peace was laid, speak peace into my heart, peace into my home, peace into the land, and peace into this troubled world. Rise in Your power — rescue me, deliver Your people, and stretch forth Your arm over this nation. Preserve us from enemies seen and unseen, and let Your justice and mercy prevail.
O Searcher of hearts, where my soul has been crushed by sin, restore what grace alone can restore. Revive in me what has grown faint. Renew in me the grace of worthiness, the hunger for righteousness, and the beauty of holiness.
O Christ of the New Covenant, with hands outstretched upon the Cross, touch my heart with redeeming love. Awaken me from spiritual slumber; call me again into living fellowship with YouOpen my lips, that my mouth may declare Your praise. Open my eyes, that I may behold Your goodness. Open my ears, that Your Word may dwell richly within me. Restore in me, O Lord, the devotion I have lost, the fire of my first love, and the purity of a heart wholly given to You. Make in me a conscience alive to Your voice, quick to hear, ready to obey, faithful in love, and free from all prejudice and division. Teach me to walk as one renewed, fully human, fully yielded, bearing Your image in truth and grace.
O Risen Lord, when You rise in glory, let me behold You — let me know You again as Friend and Master, Teacher and Healer, Advocate and Redeemer. Restore my sight, that I may behold the One who calls to repentance and offers life everlasting.
O Lamb without blemish, cleanse me and make me whole, that like the penitent at Your side, I too may find mercy, even this day.
And You, Most High God, Deliverer of the afflicted and Defender of the elect, through Your Son who was offered for us this day, remember me in my need and in my circumstances. Grant me peace in mourning, joy in sorrow, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit in every grief. Turn the shaking of this day into a foundation of faith, make Christ the Rock upon which I stand, that I may be steadfast, a pillar of light, and more than a conqueror in Him.
And as the veil was torn, grant me grace to behold only that which leads to life, and to walk in the fullness of what is revealed in Christ Jesus. Amen
