O Eternal God, Dwelling in unapproachable light, yet nearer to us than our own breath, in this sacred season of reflection draw me deeper into the mystery of Your presence. Eternal Father, Searcher of hearts and Knower of all hidden things, in the quiet light of this Lenten season, I come before You with a humble and contrite spirit. You see beyond my outward actions into the inner chambers of my thoughts, and I pray that You create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me that will bring me in deeper communion with You. Father, unite my heart more deeply with Christ; let my life grow steadily into the likeness of Christ — not by my own strength, but by the transforming power of Your Spirit, until my soul rests fully in, and is in full communion with, You.
Father, Holy and All-Seeing God, too often my life is filled with noise — the noise of worry, the noise of endless striving, the noise of restless thoughts – which I pray You wash away along with the impurities it brings, and my loyalty to You that it divides. Father, Most Divine, quiet my soul, and lead me beyond the surface of hurried prayers, into the still waters of true communion with You. Purify and sanctify me by the Holy Spirit, and as my heart is purified, let my life reflect that inward grace – in gentler words, in kinder actions,
in a deeper love for truth and righteousness, and in all those things that will bring me in deeper communion with You.
Holy Spirit, Teacher of the secret life, train my heart to linger in Your presence, quiet, attentive, and undivided; let prayer become not merely words spoken, but a dwelling with You; and grant that my mind grow attentive to Your counsel, my spirit receptive to Your guidance, and my heart anchored in Your peace.
O Lord Jesus Christ, the Master, Light of the world and Shepherd of the soul, draw me closer into the mystery of life in You; teach me to abide in Your presence; let my thoughts be shaped by Your truth; let my desires be purified by Your love; and let my actions reflect Your grace. Lord Jesus, You are the True Vine, let all my prayers in Your name become communion; let my obedience in You become joy; and let faith in You become living trust and lead to my justification.
O Holy Spirit, gentle purifier of the soul, as branches abide in the vine, teach me to abide in Christ — drawing life, strength, and wisdom from the endless grace that flows from Him. I pray that Your presence become my refuge in every moment — my calm in uncertainty, my strength in weakness, and my joy in every season – until my life itself becomes a prayer rising quietly before Your throne, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
